Indonesia is evolving from being just a market for toys and comics to becoming a global innovator in the industry, according to Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar.
Umar made these comments at the Jakarta 20th Toys & Comics Fair, a gathering for creators, collectors, and fans from Indonesia and other countries.
This year's event featured 200 booths, with 25 percent coming from abroad, highlighting Indonesia's growing appeal as a creative hub.
Umar emphasized the ministry's role in driving economic growth through the creative industry. She stated that the government is committed to supporting creators and helping them succeed both domestically and internationally.
The ministry plans to provide creators with facilitation, training, and support to enhance their competitiveness and expand their reach.
Riza Satyagraha, a representative of the Jakarta Toys & Comics Fair, stressed the importance of government support for the industry in Indonesia.
